Who we are

Project Carter is the trading name used by Trent Macartney, corporate property advisor, operating as part of Carters Investment Group ("Project Carter", "we", "us" or "our"). This policy covers personal information handled through projectcarter.com.au (the "site"), including the contact form, the free calculators, and calculator accounts. It does not cover information you give us outside the site, for example by phone or in person, which is handled under the same principles set out here.

What personal information we collect

We only collect what's needed to respond to you, run the tools on this site, or (if you choose) save your work to an account. Specifically:

Contact details you give us. When you use the contact form or a calculator's "email me a copy" step, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your site, property, deal or enquiry.
Calculator inputs. The figures you enter into a calculator (purchase price, rent, costs, loan terms, a project name or address, and similar) run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to us unless you request a PDF by email, or save a report to an account.
Account information. If you create a free account to save reports, we collect your email address (used to send a one-time sign-in link) and the reports you choose to save, including the inputs and result summaries for each calculator.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and timestamps, for security and troubleshooting.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health, financial hardship or government identifiers) through this site, and ask that you avoid including anything of that nature in free-text fields.

How we use your information

To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form or a calculator's lead-capture step.
To email a requested PDF report or copy of your calculator results.
To create and operate an account, including sending sign-in links and syncing saved reports across your devices.
To maintain the security, performance and reliability of the site.
To meet legal obligations, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing profiling.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie) for two limited, functional purposes: to remember that you've unlocked a calculator's full results on this device, and, if you sign in, to keep you signed in between visits. Clearing your browser's site data will reset both.

Third parties we use

We use a small number of specialist providers to run this site. Each only receives the information needed to perform its function, and each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles that information:

Formspree (formspree.io) receives and forwards submissions from the contact form and calculator lead-capture forms to our inbox.
AbstractAPI (abstractapi.com) checks that an email address entered in the contact form is validly formatted and deliverable before the enquiry is sent, to cut down on typos and spam.
Supabase provides the sign-in and database service behind calculator accounts, storing account email addresses and saved reports.
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) serves the typefaces used on this site; loading them shares your IP address and browser information with Google in the same way as any font or resource loaded from a third-party server.
GitHub Pages hosts the site itself and its standard server logs.

These providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's own security and privacy commitments, and only use providers who publish a privacy policy covering that handling.

How we protect your information

Account sign-in uses a one-time emailed link rather than a password, and saved reports are only accessible to the account they were saved under. Access to the inbox that receives contact-form submissions is limited to Project Carter. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't take on more information than we need in order to limit that risk.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form enquiries and email correspondence for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to you and to keep a record of the conversation, and typically no longer than seven years. Saved calculator reports are kept for as long as your account remains open; you can delete individual reports, or ask us to close your account and delete your data entirely, at any time.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988), you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent to future contact at any time. To do any of this, use the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for property developers, commercial property owners, family offices, funds and their advisors, and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new tool or change a service provider. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version.
